CUMC Recreation & Fitness

The CUMC Recreation Ministry facilities include the gym, walking track and the fitness room. The walking track and fitness room may be utilized by members and guests at any time during regular operation hours.

REGISTRATION Please ask for a registration form at the recreation desk. All new members and guests who would like to use the recreation facilities must first fill out a registration form. All members & guests must then SIGN IN at the recreation desk upon entering the facility for recreation activities.

SCHEDULE Please check the recreation bulletin board on the wall across from the recreation desk for the listing of gym activities. Also pick up your monthly newsletter for information about the upcoming events and programs.

SHOWERS & TOWELS The bathrooms on the west side of the building are furnished with showers and lockers for you to use. Bring your own lock each time. Towels are furnished at the Desk.


The walking track is located on the second floor and overlooks the gym. It has a textured rubberized surface with a center line for runners (outside lane) & walkers (inside lane) to enjoy. Track users are encouraged to go in one direction. 12 laps equals 1 mile.

Fitness Classes

Fitness classes are instructor led and are held in the gym or classrooms located on the 2nd floor. Class participants must sign in on the Fitness Class Log book located at the recreation desk. Fitness Classes are $5 each or purchase a 6-class card for $25.

Yoga: A surprising way to build strength is to slow down! Christian Yoga keeps your body, as well as your mind, healthy and active. The asana yoga poses help build strength and also stretch your body. Each class has quiet devotions for strengthening your spirit as well. Excellent class for all fitness levels and ages. *Schedule: Mon/Thur 6pm, Tues/Thur 9am *Class Schedule may change.


Members & Guests are welcome to use the fitness room after completing the FITNESS ROOM ORIENTATION CLASS. This class is offered Monday thru Friday at 6:30 p.m. Please keep in mind, you MUST attend this class before using the Fitness Room

Weight training is not advised for children younger than 14. Due to liability concerns children under the age of 10 years old are not allowed to use, sit/stand on, or otherwise handle fitness room equipment. Children between the ages of 10 and 14 may use only the aerobic machines ONLY WITH ADULT SUPERVISION AFTER COMPLETING THE FITNESS ROOM ORIENTATION. Children ages 14 and 15 may use all machines with adult supervision after FITNESS ROOM ORIENTATION. Children ages 16 and 17 may use all machines with adult consent after completing the FITNESS ROOM ORIENTATION.
